My
Thoughts
on
Vaccinations
|
| It has
taken me many years to make the final decision to no longer |
| vaccinate
our dogs against the diseases suggested by our vets. This |
| included parvo, distemper, corona, bortadella, & all the other
shots
|
| allopathic
vets in my opinion suggest, in the name of "cover my butt" |
| and keep that
"fear factor" going for their clients. Think about this: |
| Fear factor
decisions equal a very LARGE sum of money for vets |
| at the end of
the year!
|
| The decision
certainly did not come easily for me. Sadly, during my |
|
learning
years,
our dogs
suffered from my ignorance. I was stuck |
|
in
a
place
where
many
people
are today,
that
of
mindlessly allowing |
| the
veterinarian
do
whatever
he/she told us to
with
our
canine
child
as
|
| we just
stood by. After all, this was our TRUSTED vet; he/she went to |
| school
to
HEAL
our pets, not harm them. It was not until our beloved |
|
foundation bitch,
Brianna,
ended up with many health problems, that |
| I realized
what *I* had done out of LOVE, & IGNORANCE.
|
|
I
finally started thinking OUTSIDE of the box, &
my
journey began |
| to learn of alternative methods of doing many things. After I
got |
| onto
E-mail
lists
which taught me
about the benefits of a good RAW
|
| diet
& NOT giving shots, I went on to learn how
the
immune
system |
| works.
Having that information
empowered me to make the decision
|
| whether or not I wanted to
continue giving shots, just because the vet |
| said that I needed to.
Once I felt comfortable in my knowledge of how |
| the immune system
really
worked,
and having lived thru the mistakes |
|
and bad decisions, which resulted in the health problems that
those |
| decisions created,
I FINALLY took the "plunge" to no longer |
|
vaccinate our
dogs.
It
is
a
decision
I
wish
I
had
made
many years |
|
before. I continue to read books & attend holistic &
homeopathic |
|
seminars & classes
to
further
my education. I do understand |
| people's fear
factor
with
this
decision, which
is outside the "norm". |
| With the
health issues
that our
beloved dogs had suffered, I felt I |
| HAD to do something different.
Looking back, the decisions I had |
| made in the past certainly were not
the right ones. The state of our |
| dogs health told us that.
|
|
I
ask
you
to
look
into
your
dog
or
cat's
eyes,
&
ask
yourself
if the |
|
decisions
you
have
made
in
the
past
concerning
your furr
friend,
have
|
|
benefited or
detracted
from
their
health.
It
was
through
my
dogs
health
|
|
problems, that I have learned that
LESS IS MORE, especially when it |
| comes
to
shots.
Ellye
Mae
was
the "catalyst" which pushed me over |
| the edge,
so
to
speak,
when
I
wrestled
with
that
final decision to give or |
| not
to
give
her even a fraction
of
ONE
shot. I
really
did
NOT
want
to
|
| give it,
but I was still paralyzed with the FEAR FACTOR
that
she
was
a |
|
Rottweiler
&
I had been brain washed by my vets, into thinking that
|
| Rotts
do not have
good
immune
systems.
I
had
heard
that
for
so
many
|
|
years. When Ellye was 16
weeks old, & had already been to dog shows
|
|
& had earned her UCI INT'L Championship, I became
a VICTIM of
|
|
FEAR for the very LAST time. I gave
Ellye
1/10th of a CC
of
a MLV |
|
Parvo/Distemper
shot.
The
very
next
day, Ellye's once beautiful
clear |
|
eyes were filled with goop. WHAT had I done?
THAT convinced me |
|
that I would never ever give
another shot to my dogs. I learned that |
|
what I did by giving that shot, however
small the amount, was that I |
|
completely
by-passed Ellye's
immune filters;
her nose, pads of her |
|
feet, fur. Her body
told me
that by presenting the eye discharge. The |
|
discharge was her body trying to get RID of that "stuff" I injected.
It |
|
forever changed
my life & that of my beloved canine kids for the better. |
| That monkey was
FINALLY &
forever lifted from my back. After |
|
that
incident,
I
vowed
to
have
the
healthiest Rottweilers around. I |
|
made the decision to help my dogs live a long &
hopefully a disease |
|
FREE life, by allowing their immune system to work the
all |
| NATURAL
WAY. I have not regretted having made that decision, & |
| our
dogs are now the
picture
of
health. |
|
Part
of my
education
process
was
the
discovery
of
avenues
to
keep our |
| dogs
immune system at peak performance. The basis for that was good |
| nutrition
&
water. Think about this for just a minute:
What did people |
|
feed
their
cats
&
dogs
before
their
food
came
packaged
in
a bag? Their |
| dogs
& cats caught & ate rodents of all kinds. The got table scraps |
| from
their human care givers. And, think about this: before dog & cat |
|
food
was
put
into a bag, those animals lived much longer lives, free of |
| diseases
we
sadly
now
call "common". |
|
IMHO, water & air pollution as well as poor diet, & over vaccinations |
|
have
been
big
contributions
to
our
furr babies declining health over |
| the
years.
It
is also very sad to me that many people still allow their |
| veterinarians
do
whatever
they want to their pets, & as their caregivers, |
|
do
NOT
question
their
actions.
You
would not let your human child's |
| pediatrician
do
whatever
they
wanted
to
your
child
without asking |
| questions,
would
you? Most
would
answer
that
question
with
a
definite
|
| NO. So,
why
would
you
not
question
your
veterinarian's
actions?
|
|
Once you truly understand how the immune system works, I feel you
|
|
can
THEN get control of your personal fear factor, & continue to
evolve |
| into
understanding
the damage vaccinations can have on
your furr- |
| baby.
It
is
a
personal
decision. I hope that by me sharing my
|
| journey,
you will be empowered to
travel
down
the
same
road to |
| better
health
for
your
animals.
I
will
never
go
back.
And,
I
|
| was even
more happy that I had made the decision to not vaccinate, |
| when I learned
that
it
would take SIX GENERATIONS of NON- |
| vaccinated
dogs,
to
cleanse
the
damage
done
by all of the over-
|
|
vaccinating I had done & to clear that generation's
immune slate.
|
| Thankfully
my
light came on when it did. I hope & pray that you too, |
| will
allow
that
light
to
come
on
&
to be guided by it.
|
|
A tibit to ponder: The Chinese have been SUCCESSFULLY |
| practicing "alternative" methods of healing for
centuries. THAT tells |
| me that
there
is
always
more than ONE way to treat most things. |
