CONTACT US

For those of you whom still feel that "need" to vaccinate your pets, THIS is the newest
information from world renowned immunologist Dr. W. Jean Dodds, DVM.

This is the correct protocol.  Please disregard the E-mail going around the internet April 2008.  Dr. Dodds told me personally  in an E-mail dated 4/28/08: "Dear Randye:  While much of this information is correct, it's  recycled from a 2004 internet broadcast that did not come from me !   I was even contacted at the time by the AVMA staff to find out where I got my data about "all 27 vet schools --- " !! Sorry !   Jean"

Note: The following vaccine protocol is offered for those dogs where minimal vaccinations are advisable or desirable.  The schedule is one I recommend and should not interpreted to mean that other protocols recommended by a veterinarian would be less satisfactory.  It's a matter of professional judgment and choice.

Rabies

Distemper + Parvovirus, MLV

Rabies, killed 3-year product (give 3-4 weeks apart from distemper/parvovirus booster)

Perform vaccine antibody titers for distemper and parvovirus annually thereafter. Vaccinate for rabies virus according to the law, except where circumstances indicate that a written waiver needs to be obtained from the primary care veterinarian.  In that case rabies antibody titer can also be performed to accompany
the waiver.
